Liam paused for a moment, then gently tucked a stray lock of Wendy's hair behind her ear.
His voice softened. "Back when I was in Ochor, something like this happened to me, too. I made it out just fine."
Wendy shook her head, her voice tight. "It's not the same. Liam, please—don't risk the entire hospital on a guess."
The concern was real, but the part meant to make Liam hesitate wasn't.
Wendy's heart was pounding so loudly she could barely think straight. No matter how she tried to reason with him, it didn't seem to matter.
Liam gently patted her hand. "Evacuating all the staff and patients? That's a massive operation. You know that better than anyone.
"There are still ongoing surgeries. If we rush things, people could get hurt. All I need to do is assess the risk. Wendy, I promise, I'll give a fair call on whether we need to evacuate."
