Charlie could no longer hold his anger back. Striding swiftly toward the hospital ward, he wanted to shake Bella awake and demand the truth. Although she had just come out of surgery and hadn't regained consciousness, he had to know. How many lies had she fed him? Then, the shrill rings of a phone from the bench in the hallway snapped Charlie back to his senses. It was Bella's phone, which had been entrusted to him by a nurse earlier.
