"Julian?" Fiona Reid called out softly.
Snapped out of his daze, Julian's expression turned even colder. "We're leaving."
Fiona didn't argue, just nodded.
By the time the assistant and driver showed up, Julian's face was so dark it could freeze the air.
The assistant spoke up, cautiously. "Mr. Hale…"
Julian shot a glance toward Hannah Grant and Joseph Hardy, who were still flirting like no one was watching. His jaw tightened. "Take Miss Reid to the airport. Make sure she gets back safely."
Fiona blinked, surprised. "You're not coming back with me?"
"There's a deal I need to follow up on here in Yarrin," he said flatly, a clear sign he was brushing her off.
Fiona's face stiffened. She wasn't stupid—if she didn't fight for him, she'd have no shot. "I could come too, maybe I can help?"
Julian checked the time. "No need. Head home."
Fiona opened her mouth, hesitated, then swallowed whatever she was going to say. "Okay, I'll wait for you in Pinebrook."
