"She drank, but not excessively. No signs of allergic or adverse reactions," the doctor concluded after a brief examination, sighing slightly. "No need for gastric lavage, but she should have some yogurt to sober up. It's not appropriate for a child this young to be intoxicated."
Adrian Quinn glanced at Locke White by the door.
Locke quickly turned. "I'll go buy yogurt right away!"
Lila Cross knelt down, gently soothing the little girl's feverish back. "Stella, are you feeling unwell?"
The little girl blinked drowsily at Lila. "Mom..."
Lila stiffened slightly.
"I've always wanted a mom..."
Dazed by alcohol, the little girl hugged Lila's hand. "Nolan said my real parents must still be alive, waiting to bring me home..."
"But where are they...?"
Tears welled up in her eyes. "Pretty lady, will you be my mom?"
Then she lifted her misty, wide eyes and looked at Adrian. "And you be my dad."
