Chapter 243: Hallucinations?!

In a moment, the trio arrived at the security room, finding the three culprits bound and squatting in a corner, their faces etched with defiance despite their predicament. "So, you're the ones who came to Lumin Sky Group to extort?" Henry's gaze swept over them, his brows furrowing in disdain. One of the men sneered back, "We just came to talk business with Lumin Sky Group. You refuse to cooperate, fine, but assaulting us? This isn't over!" Henry couldn't help but laugh at their stubbornness. "Still so tough when you're in this situation? Admirable spirit!" The man retorted, unaware of his imminent danger, "Don’t you know who we are? We're Trident Force in King City. You'll regret this once we're out. Lumin Sky Group won't last long if you don’t follow the rules." Henry, amused, pointed to Zane, "Do you even know who he is?" The culprit dismissed Zane as just another thug. "I have hundreds of men at my command. You've won today, but this isn't over!" "Do you really not recognize the Tiger in King City?" Henry probed, testing their knowledge of Zane. They scoffed, "What Tiger in King City? More like a sick cat." It was clear to Henry that these men were pretending not to recognize Zane, indicating they were aware of who he was but refused to show fear, hinting at a powerful backer. "Zane, they're being quite stubborn," Henry noted. "Understood." Zane replied before swiftly landing a slap on the talkative man, who screamed as teeth and blood spilled from his mouth. After administering more punishment, leaving the three barely human in appearance, Zane ceased his assault. While Henry remained unfazed, Daisy looked on, fraught with worry that Zane might go too far. "Wake them up!" Zane ordered the security guards, who promptly doused the men with cold water, reviving them into a pitiable state. "I'll give you one chance," Henry stated coldly. "Reveal your backer, or I won't bother with the police; I'll end you right here." The trio exchanged glances, one of them quickly turned to Henry and blurted out, "I'll talk, I'll talk... It was a guy named Gabriel, he paid us three hundred thousand to stir up trouble at Lumin Sky Group. Said to claim that Sophie from The Mitchell was the one who put us up to it!" "Hmm?" This was a twist Henry hadn't expected. He had thought Axel was behind this mess, not Gabriel! Yet, now that Gabriel was in cahoots with Axel, the latter wasn't entirely blameless either. "Besides causing a scene at Lumin Sky Group, did he send you anywhere else?" Henry probed. "A few of us also hit Royal Entertainment Media Group!" the man continued. "Hmph, just as I thought!" Henry muttered to himself, piecing it together. Gabriel was clearly targeting Sophie, aiming to drive her out of the company and the family. "Ms. Cooper, the police have arrived," Daisy's secretary rushed in to report. "Alright, I'm aware. Please step out for now!" Daisy responded promptly. But no sooner had she spoken than the police stepped into the security room, causing Henry to furrow his brows upon recognizing the lead officer. "Am I hallucinating??" Henry stared incredulously at the person opposite him. It was Katherine. There they stood, eye to eye, Henry with a look of resignation and Katherine with an icy demeanor, as if she didn't recognize Henry at all. "Did you call the police?" Katherine asked, all business. "Officer, I was the one who ordered the call. These three men attempted extortion at my company and were subdued by our security," Daisy hurriedly explained. "Subdued?" Katherine's eyebrows knitted in disapproval as she glanced over the disheveled trio, accusingly. "Does subduing them involve beating them to this extent? I suspect you've assaulted these men!" At her words, Henry couldn't help but feel a mix of amusement and dismay, while Zane watched the scene with a comically intrigued expression, knowing Katherine as well. But Daisy, unaware, quickly tried to clarify, "It's not like that; we were defending ourselves!" Katherine ignored her, her gaze settling on Henry. "I suspect it was you who laid hands on them?" she questioned, prompting an exasperated look from Henry. He could never have imagined Katherine not staying put in Guardia, let alone suddenly showing up in King City. And now it seemed she was here to stay. What concerned him wasn't the immediate situation but the recollection of Katherine's words before he left, stirring a sense of unease within him. Daisy was about to further explain but was gently pulled back by Zane, who shook his head, signaling her to remain silent. Daisy could only stand there, looking bewilderedly between Henry and Katherine. In fact, after seeing Henry off, Katherine had already decided to make her way to King City. Fortuitously, King City was in need of a competent female officer at the time, so with just a phone call, her transfer was arranged. Katherine seamlessly transitioned into a role at the King City police department, even becoming the captain. "Alright, I did hit them, but they were fraudsters. That's not wrong, is it?" Henry retorted. Katherine's eyebrows furrowed, and she immediately turned to her subordinates, "Take these three to the car first, I have other matters to attend to!" "Understood!" The officers quickly escorted the trio out of the security room. Zane, understanding Katherine's intentions, then told the security guards, "You all can leave now!" "Yes!" The security personnel promptly exited. Zane then grabbed Daisy by the hand and started walking out. "What's happening?" Daisy asked, confused. "Officer Cavendish needs to see the boss, let's head out first," Zane whispered to her. Witnessing this, Henry couldn't help but feel a bit abandoned by Zane at this crucial moment. "Uh..." Henry began, left in the room with only Katherine. "Why did you come to King City?" he asked, a hint of resignation in his voice, now that they were alone.
