I don't know what came over me

LESLIE’S POV I wiped at the stray tear that rolled down my cheek. Another fell, then another until I couldn’t catch them as fast as they fell. I sniffled, turning away from Wade. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what came over me.” I needed to get myself together. People were staring at me as I cried. I felt an arm go around to my other shoulder. Wade guided me to face him and then pulled me into his chest. His other hand held the back of my head. I stood there, hands on either side of my body, in shock. “Never apologize for feeling too much,” he said. My vision blurred as tears filled my eyes. I buried my face even deeper in his chest, a sob breaking out of my mouth. I didn’t want to cry, especially not in front of him but the moment I started, I couldn’t stop. I held onto his shirt like it was my lifeline as I cried my eyes out. Wade said nothing, comforting me and letting me cry for as long as I wanted. This was different.
