Celestia Brooks finally calmed down a little after hearing the voice on the other end. “Hey.” Jareth Carrington's slightly ragged breath came through the phone. Celestia didn’t waste a second worrying about what was going on with him—she jumped straight in. “Where did you take my dad?” There was a pause on Jareth’s end, like he hadn’t expected her call. Then his voice took on this oddly cheerful tone. “So you found out? Did someone at the hospital tell you? I specifically told them not to.” Celestia’s brows furrowed hard, her whole face darkening. “Jareth, where the hell is my father?!” Her sharp tone seemed to finally pull Jareth back to the situation. He cleared his throat and his voice shifted to something a bit more serious. “Relax, I just wanted to move him somewhere more comfortable. I wouldn’t do anything to hurt him—” “I don’t want excuses,” Celestia cut him off, voice cold. “Just tell me where he is.” There was a pause, followed by a sigh on his end. He sounded reluctant. “He’
