Homecoming Howls
Emily's POV.
After what felt like a lifetime of magical boot camp (but was probably closer to a week), we were finally heading back to Windridge. Don't get me wrong, I'd learned more about my powers in the past few days than I had in my entire life. But if I never saw another "murder pixie" or had to wrestle a kraken again, it would be too soon.
"I can't believe we're going home," I sighed, leaning my head against Leo's shoulder as we piled into Alpha Thorne's SUV. "It feels like we've been gone for years."
"Time flies when you're battling mythical creatures and uncovering supernatural conspiracies," Luca quipped from the front seat.
Logan, sandwiched between Leo and me in the back, snorted. "Yeah, nothing says 'fun vacation' like almost getting eaten by a chimera."
I rolled my eyes, but couldn't keep the fond smile off my face. "You guys are impossible."
"You love us," all three chorused through our mental link, sending a warm flutter through my chest.
