Chapter 143 Another nightmare?
Maya's POV
Finally, I have my baby back in my arms; I don't even care about anything else or anyone else, for that matter.
Why should I?
Jackson was all that mattered to me now. He clung to my neck as I walked towards the leading pack house. It felt so familiar. As if seeing it again just opened up my memories. No wonder Kieran didn't want me to leave him; he knew that coming back to where I was from would unlock those memories. I swallowed hard, annoyed and frustrated at myself for allowing him to fool me so easily.
"Mummy, are you still mad at me?" Jackson's small voice suddenly echoed through my ear as he lifted his head slightly.
"No, my son. I am not mad at you. I never was. I love you and I always will. Nothing and nobody will ever change that. Now let's get you to bed. You need your rest." I insisted. Jackson seemed to be satisfied with my answer. He rested his head back down on my shoulder, and I felt his heartbeat against me.
It was dark, but my senses were heightened.
