About an hour and a half later I found myself sitting across from an almost asleep Dani in the bathtub. I'd used the bath butters I'd packed, knowing they had become one of her favorite luxuries in the past month. I continued to rub her swollen feet as she breathed deeply, her long hair piled on top of her head in a messy bun - the one I'd done my best to secure there in the neatest fashion I could manage, but had turned out horribly. The tub water had started to run a bit cold, even though I had partially drained and refilled it once already; we'd been in here a while to say the least. The water always made her achy body feel better. After we'd finished talking about some of the grittier details of the move - specifically those concerning what I would do for a job - she rested her head back against the pillow I'd placed for her and had dozed off.
