Chapter 779

A man with an impatient expression said, "Come on, stop fooling around! Even if we're divorced, you still have a kid. You can't just grab some pretty boy off the street and call him your boyfriend. What do you think Lucas will think? Do you think I'm stupid?" The man looked to be in his late 20s, with toned muscles showing through his short sleeves. He seemed like a guy who had had some training. "First of all, Lucas is my child, and he has nothing to do with you!" the woman shot back coldly. "Second, this is my boyfriend! His name is Steven Lewis, not 'some pretty boy!'" After saying that, she shot a frantic look at Steven. "Tell him you're my boyfriend." Steven was surprised and finally recognized the woman. Gracie Palmer? Back when he was studying at Southbank University, Gracie, the campus belle, had just graduated and stayed on to teach. She was adored by countless male students and also happened to be one of his professors. Unfortunately, he had never been good at following school rules and often made her angry, with her showing up at the dorms to drag him out for a scolding. He had been so focused on looking at her chest that he hadn't recognized her face right away. After all, it had been a few years since they last met. Gracie had gotten married during his time at university. When news of her marriage broke, many of the male students couldn't sleep, wishing they could find the man who "stole" her and do something about it. Before Steven graduated, Gracie had a child in the second year of her marriage. Not long after, her unhappy marriage ended, but the ex-husband still seemed to be bothering her. Steven glanced at Gracie, whose face was full of anxiety. He then looked at the man next to her who was filled with anger. Damn it! He was the bastard who stole Gracie from them! Steven grinned. He immediately stood up and wrapped his arm around Gracie's waist. The warmth of her body was intoxicating, and a fragrant scent wafted toward him. He looked at the man, Herbert Hickman, who was glaring at him furiously. With a smirk, Steven said, "That's right, I'm Gracie's current boyfriend. You must be her ex-husband, right? So why don't you get lost and stop harassing my girlfriend?" "Drop the act, you pretty boy! Do you really think Gracie would go for someone like you? Let go of her, she's my wife!" Herbert shouted angrily. His face turned red with rage when he saw Steven holding Gracie by her waist. "Let go? Sure." Steven grinned and dropped his hand. He then reached for Gracie's hip, slowly squeezing it. He smiled at Herbert. "I've let go. Want me to keep going?" Herbert's eyes nearly burst with rage as he saw Steven's hand on Gracie's hip. "How dare you!" Gracie flushed with a mix of embarrassment and anger. Yet she could only hold onto Steven's arm and secretly pinched him hard. She muttered silently to herself, "Steven was never this bold before! Now he dares to take advantage of me? Wait till I deal with you later!" Turning to Herbert, she stood tall and said firmly, "Pretty boy? Steven is a hundred times better than you! I have a boyfriend now. If you keep harassing me, I'll call the police!" "You slut, how dare you betray me!" "Herbert, are you that shameless? Who betrayed whom here? I divorced you a long time ago! I'm in a relationship now, and it has nothing to do with you!" Gracie's expression turned icy at the word "betrayal." Herbert, knowing he was in the wrong, didn't argue with her. Instead, he suddenly turned to Steven with a dark expression. "Kid, if you've got the guts, don't hide behind a woman! Come out and let's see what makes you think you can touch my woman!" He cracked his knuckles. Steven sneered. Herbert looked like a third-grade professional at best. How dare he challenge him? It had been a while since he dealt with such a weak opponent. And on top of that, he was even more shameless than Steven. Gracie was already divorced from him, yet he still claimed she was his. What a disgrace! Gracie grew anxious and whispered to Steven, "Don't do anything rash. He is a ninth-degree black belt in taekwondo." She stepped forward and stood protectively before Steven. Facing Herbert, she said coldly, "This is a lawful society. If you don't back off, I'll call the police!" "Call the police?" Herbert replied arrogantly, "Don't bother with those empty threats! I've got connections in the City Police." With that, he turned to Steven with a mocking smile and taunted, "Come on, boy! Weren't you brave enough to put your hands on my woman just now? What, too scared to step up now?"
