They would never know how my heart ached as I heard those whispers.
Once, I was Alexander’s Luna. But I could never be that again—beautiful dress or not. Not unless I found a cure for this curse, which I was losing hope over day by day.
Still, I kept my smile fixed on my face and made my way through the crowd toward where the other contestants were gathered near the front of the room.
