Chapter 1165
Adrian and Nicholas sat inside a cafe, talking about Gostia and Partingia. Adrian held Nicholas in very high regard and had nothing but good compliments for him. Nicholas did not have high aspirations in life. He only hoped to do what he could to resolve problems and make the world safer.
Naturally, these problems were related to Gostia and Partingia. If the outlands learned of these countries’ histories and located what was lost there, the world would surely face a world-ending catastrophe.
Nicholas said, "I'll be entering Mount Shangspar again in spring next year when it is warmest. Please let me know by February if you'd like to go. I'll wait for you until then and depart in early March."
February was a warm season for Mount Shangspar which was a mountain of snow. There would be fewer avalanches during that time, making it the best time to visit. Nicholas wanted to learn the history of Gostia and Partingia, something that he had been confident in since the beginning.
Adrian thought about his schedule for a moment. The selection should be done by the end of the year, and he would have nothing to do after the new legate takes control. He nodded and said, "I'll contact you in February. We'll head over to Mount Shangspar then. I'd like to unlock the secrets of Partingia and Gostia too. If the outlands find out about their histories first, they might use the old ways to rule with a tyrannical fist. We have to get to the bottom of this before them or destroy it all."
Gostia’s and Partingia's secrets were like a ticking time bomb. Both nations were destroyed due to their secrets. If those secrets emerged in the world once more, they might affect the entire world with the help of modern technology.
Adrian admitted he did not have the courage and determination to pave the future. However, now that he knew about this, he could not sit aside and remain idle. Plus, the meteorites at Isle 416 seemed to be connected to Gostia and Partingia. He knew he needed to visit Mount Shangspar. Regardless of what the future held, he needed to do his best to rectify the issue.
"You guys done? Hayden's here, so it's time to go, Adrian," Mya said as she walked in.
Adrian stood up and said, "All right, it's time for me to leave, Nicholas. Thank you for curing Gloria. Feel free to contact me if you need my help in the future."
Nicholas nodded. "I hope that the selection proceeds smoothly. Remember, you have to let me know before February."
"Don't worry, I'll be there."
Adrian walked out, while Nicholas remained seated and took a sip of his coffee.
Outside, Hayden had arrived and Gloria was saying her goodbyes to Lacey.
Mya asked, "What were you and Nicholas talking about? What's happening in February? Is it something fun? Take me along with you, okay?"
Adrian merely shot her a silent glare in return.
