The day we returned to Duskhowl Pack, the full moon was just rising. Ethan, having concluded his business in Silvermoon, escorted me back alongside Mrs. Fisher. As per my wish, the engagement banquet was held in my hometown, not the traditional Alpha family territory.
Father's recovery exceeded everyone's expectations. At the banquet, he beamed as he boasted to the guests, "Sophia thought I might have picked an unreliable match for her. But Ethan fought alongside us Duskhowl warriors! We know his character better than anyone."
Ethan stood beside me, and at these words, the familiar flush crept back up to the tips of his ears. I nudged his elbow gently. "Don't mind him, my father just loves to joke."
Mrs. Fisher laughed. "Only you think he's bashful. At home, everyone knows this Alpha usually wears a stern face and doesn't hold back when reprimanding people." She added, winking, "It's only in front of you that he blushes like a green boy."
