"I've got things to deal with, not gonna waste time talking. Make sure Oliver's at my office before tomorrow." Fiona stared at her phone, furious after Charles hung up. She practically stomped her feet, muttering, "Charles Hart, you absolute jerk. Completely impossible!" It had been ages since she'd been this pissed. The guy was beyond infuriating. Stella, sitting nearby, caught Fiona going off and had a hunch what it was about. "Fiona, what happened? Did Charles say something?" Fiona hesitated, eyes darting around, clearly avoiding Stella's gaze. Stella reached over and grabbed her hand, her voice urgent. "Fiona, just tell me. I can handle it." She had already braced for the worst—like maybe Charles had gotten back with Grace Carter. She could take it. Trusting him again had been stupid. She should’ve never given him another shot.
