The sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm, golden glow across the quiet suburban streets. It was a Saturday morning, and Timothy had taken the day off work to take his mother on a long-awaited trip to the beach. It was a rare break from the demands of his job, and he had been looking forward to spending quality time with her.
He parked his car in front of her charming, pastel-colored house, the place where he had grown up, and where his mother had raised him as a single parent. The thought of those days being long gone coursed through him, and he had to force a smile as he approached the front door.
