Chapter 219 Barriers Too High to Climb
"My company, my call," Tristan said as he turned around. He lifted a hand and ruffled her hair. "The one running Leigh Group now is me."
His words were arrogant, yet they inexplicably put Cressida at ease.
"Come on. Let's eat," Tristan said as he took her hand.
On the drive to the restaurant, Tristan's phone kept ringing. Cressida glanced at the screen and saw the word "Dad." Without glancing at it, he hung up.
The phone rang again. He rejected the call once more and turned on the "do not disturb" mode. Silence settled over the car.
They were dining on the top floor of a revolving restaurant that overlooked the city. Just as they had settled in after placing the order, Tristan's phone rang. He stood and stepped away to take the call.
Cressida sat there alone, staring out at the night view. Her mind was in a mess.
