Tristan walked over to the bed and looked at her. "Besides my dad, have you made enemies with anyone else?"
Cressida shook her head. "I know who it is, but I have no proof."
He didn't press further. Instead, he bent down and lifted her into his arms again.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"Going home," he replied simply.
The car glided smoothly through the night streets.
"How are you going to explain this to your grandmother?" Tristan asked suddenly, staring at the road ahead.
Cressida thought of that as well. Daphne was elderly, and her heart was weak. If she saw Cressida in this state, Daphne would undoubtedly worry herself sick.
"I'll just say I'm on a business trip," Cressida said.
"And then you're stuck in your apartment, unable to get out of bed or even eat?" Tristan countered.
