Chapter 16

Standing at the door of Cedric's apartment, Elizabeth watched as he wheeled the last suitcase inside. He even had a thin sheen of sweat on his forehead. Ever since Elizabeth had agreed to Cedric's offer, he had begun planning the layout of his home to make her life more convenient. He had also cleared out many of his things to create space for her. Additionally, he had skipped class early that morning, driven over, and picked her up to help her move. "I'm really sorry for the trouble, Cedric," Elizabeth said. She felt deeply moved as she watched him make multiple trips to help her move her things. Taking out a wet wipe, she moved to help him wipe his sweat. He froze for a moment, forgetting how to move. Straightening up, Cedric wiped the sweat from his brow. Then, he smiled at her and said, "It's nothing. Come on. There's no need to be polite with me. Head in and see if there's anything you'll need. I'll go with you to buy it." Elizabeth walked into the apartment that was already
