Chapter 359
Juliana remembered Arthur’s instruction to be a proper maid. She quickly said, “Right away! I’ll bring them up immediately.”
She went to fetch the suitcases—two enormous ones. Dragging them to the staircase, she tried to lift them, but they were far too heavy. Her slender arms were no match for the seasoned maids who carried such weight every day.
Ayra stood nearby with her arms crossed, watching Juliana struggle with a smirk. “Be careful with those,” she sneered. “They’re full of valuables. If anything breaks, you could never afford to replace it.”
After several failed attempts, Juliana was left panting. “Miss Martin, they’re too heavy. I can’t lift them.”
“Useless, aren’t you?” Ayra taunted, her crimson lips curling in disdain.
“Mr. Jian, could you lend a hand?” Juliana turned to the only man in the hall for help.
“This is servants’ work. How dare you—” Ayra began, but her words faded as Arthur strode over.
With effortless strength, he lifted both suitcases and carried them upstairs.
