"That’s your interpretation, not mine."
Claire Thompson shot him a grin. She looked down at the knife in her palm, turning the blade slightly to catch the firelight, and gave it a light flick against her thumb to test its edge.
The glint of the blade under the dim fire cast a frosty glow on her smile—one that didn’t quite reach her eyes.
"You said I’m acting like a saint. I was just sharing my thoughts on the term and saying I don’t necessarily dislike it. You’re the one who slapped the label on me—try not to twist things."
