The situation inside the storage was far worse than Gabriel had imagined. The scorching air seared his throat, and the billowing smoke stung his eyes shut. Gabriel forced himself forward with sheer brute strength, but every step was an arduous struggle. Debris littered the ground, and the crackling of flames filled his ears, yet he ignored it all. He only knew one thing. Emily was here. He had lost her once, and he wouldn't let it happen a second time. Even if it meant death, he would die with her. Suddenly, a familiar voice seemed to drift into her ears. She wondered if it was a hallucination. She
