Two hours later and my paws were still pounding against the hard soil of the forest floor. Jaxson was a mile or so in front of me, but instead of slowing down he seemed to be getting faster. The fading sight of him only made my wolf want to speed up and match him pace for pace. She wanted to make her future Alpha proud as well as Richard and we both knew the only way to do that was to push ourselves to the limit.
Every wolf loved to run. It was in our nature, we were born to do it. Running on a Saturday afternoon with the hot summer's sun beating down on you, enjoying the wind brushing through your fur, running for nothing but the thrill of it was one thing. Running in training was another.
I had to concentrate on my technique, speed, strength and breathing. It all had to merge together creating a better run. As an unusually smaller wolf my technique wasn't that bad, I could weave my way in and out of most places. That helped with my speed too. I was nowhere n
