As Elliot turned around to leave, she quietly pulled out her phone and snapped some photos of him in rapid succession.
"Angelica."
Elliot paused without warning and whipped around before she could react.
She scrambled to put away her phone. Looking frantic, she stammered, "W-What is it?"
Her panic was not lost on him, but he misinterpreted it. He believed that she must have panicked because she missed him.
"Hah. How fake of her to do this," he silently thought.
The stifling feeling in his chest subsided. In a rare instance of pleasure, he said to her, "Wait for me."
She stood there, puzzled, as he shut the door. His haughty tone sounded like he was doing her a favor.
Anyway, she hurried into her place and repeatedly checked that it was locked before washing up.
She nursed the swelling on the corner of her forehead with some ice cubes wrapped in a cloth—the area that was hit by the ashtray thrown by Lawrenc
