As the workday was nearing its end, Thalia called Stanford and told him she'd be coming home for dinner. After that, she stood by the floor-to-ceiling window with a cup of coffee, admiring the city as dusk settled in.
Tyren walked in at that moment. Thalia didn't notice until arms wrapped around her waist from behind, and she smiled softly.
"Where did you go? Why are you only back now?" she asked.
Tyren buried his face into her neck and inhaled her scent, his voice low and hoarse. "Did you miss me, Thalia?"
As he spoke, he turned her around, lifted her chin, and kissed her.
Thalia was still holding her coffee and protested softly, "Don't mess around. The coffee's going to spill."
Tyren immediately took the cup from her and set it aside. He kissed her more deeply and said, "We haven't seen each other for hours. You might not miss me, but I missed you badly, Thalia."
