Louisa studied Elijah's face. It was well-defined and sharp. If there were a standard for male beauty, he was it.
With his striking looks and powerful family backing, he could have had any woman he wanted. Yet, he had married her over a single text. From the moment she saw him at the altar yesterday, she had been suspicious.
