Judy’s POV
“Judy! We are so glad you decided to move in as well,” Meredith said as she greeted us at the doorway. Kelsey was also there with her arms folded across her chest and she was glaring at me. I tried hard to not look her in the eyes. This was the last place I wanted to be and the less I had to communicate with them, the better.
“It’s not like I had a choice,” I murmured without really thinking about it.
My mother nudged me in the side of the rib and gave me a pointed look.
“She’s joking, of course,” she said, giving the fakest laugh I had ever heard. She walked towards Meredith to give her a quick hug and a kiss on the cheek. “Thank you so much for your hospitality.”
“Of course; it’s what friends are for,” Meredith said, her eyes darkening as she glared at me from over my mother’s shoulder. “How about I show you to your room?”
“That would be great,” my mother said, glancing at the bags we left at the doorway.
