True to Lucien's words, the news was being swept off the news. It was almost like it didn't happen. Like me crying in the midnight was just a nightmare. My stinging eyes and Lucien's arms around me when I woke up was enough evidence that it wasn't.
Hannah handed me coffee as soon as I put my foot through the office doors. God, she understood me so well it hurt.
“Were there any threats?” I asked, and she shook her head, tapping away on her iPad as usual.
“Just a meeting with the investors lined up, waiting for you.”
“Alright then,” I said, exhaling slowly. I felt dizzy for a second. I quickly held on to one of the doors. Hannah was at my side immediately.
“Are you okay, ma'am?” She asked, and I gave her a weak nod.
“I just want to get some rest,” I whispered. “Nothing much.”
“Of course,” she said, taking her hands in mine as she led me to my office, with her hands in mine. “I'll just ask the investors to give you a breather for at least an hour or two.”
