Chapter 129
Alejandro's POV
The jungle felt heavy and dense, as if it were attempting to engulf me. I felt as though I was stepping deeper into a trap with each step. But not right now; I couldn't stop. Emiliano's life was at risk.
Although Camila and I had meticulously planned the raid, chaos broke out as soon as we arrived at the cartel's outpost. The ground trembled with each explosion as gunfire splintered through the humid air. My heart slammed against my ribs, like it wanted to get out.
"Remain near!" I grabbed Camila's arm and yelled. She nodded, her eyes piercing and fiery.
We need to get Emiliano out, I kept thinking. Regardless.
