By the time Sebastian reached the Westhill Memorial Park, night had fully fallen.
The chamber containing the urn had been pried open. Inside, it was empty.
Taylor stood off to the side, scarcely daring to breathe.
Sebastian remained before the headstone for a long time, silent and unmoving. At last, he turned and walked toward the memorial park's office.
Inside the surveillance room, the manager trembled so badly he could barely stand.
Sebastian sat down in front of the screens and pulled up the recordings himself.
The footage was grainy, but clear enough to show a woman dressed in black approaching the grave. Her movements were swift and precise, without hesitation.
She opened the chamber, lifted out the urn, placed it into a wooden box, and left.
The entire process took less than five minutes.
