My eyes were red, but my heart felt like it’d been soaked in honey. I leaned my head against his chest, rubbing gently. “Henry, I trust you. If you say that Vera’s kid isn’t yours, I’ll believe you. Just like that. I hope you can trust me the same way. There’s really nothing between Xander and me. You don’t have to carry that guilt.”
“Okay, I believe you.” Henry cupped my cheek with his palm. “Let’s make peace, yeah? No more talk about divorce. Deal?”
“Deal.” I nodded. At that moment, I truly believed him and stopped doubting anything between me and Xander.
So yeah, one of our worst fights ended in silence. I didn’t end up leaving. He held me all the way back to our room and we fell asleep in each other’s arms.
