"Why can't Daddy come home with us?" Snowball whined, his robotic ears drooping pathetically. "Don't you like him, Mommy?"
Dorothy gently tapped the robot dog's head. "Please stop calling him that, little one."
"But he created me!" Snowball protested, his electronic eyes widening in confusion.
"I thought Dr. Code and Dr. Urner created you," Dorothy countered, raising an eyebrow.
Snowball's tail wagged dismissively. "They helped with my hardware components and aesthetic design. But Daddy wrote my core programming—he gave me my soul, so to speak."
"Fine." Dorothy sighed, rubbing her temples. "Just don't mention his name around me, okay? That's all I ask."
"But why?" Snowball tilted his head, the universal canine gesture of confusion.
Draven pinched the dog's synthetic ear between two fingers. "What are you, the Curiosity Rover? Why so many questions?"
"I'm designed to learn through the Socratic Method," Snowball replied proudly, not at all bothered by the ear pinching.
