Morton looked at his phone screen, puzzled by Matthias’s response.
In a world ruled by bloodlines and power plays, Matthias’s indifference was maddening.
“Hello? Did you hear what I said?”
“Loud and clear.”
“Then don’t you think you need to do something about it?”
“About what?”
Morton clenched his jaw. Was the old wolf losing his edge? Or just playing elder politics the way only Alphas knew how?
“Are you going to let your son give away an important position in the company just to please his mistress?”
“Maybe he knows what he’s doing.”
