Caleb's arms flew protectively across his chest, his eyes darting wildly between me and Darius. The mighty Silver Creek Alpha maintained his stony expression, offering no lifeline to his friend. Just weeks ago, I would have shown mercy, would have bent to avoid conflict. But I wasn't that omega anymore.
"How about...how about I pay for the drinks and we call it even?" Caleb stammered, desperation seeping into his voice.
Theodore's derisive laugh cut through the club's pulsing music. "Do you think we can't afford to settle the tab?" His eyes glittered with mischief as he watched Caleb squirm.
"Yeah," Kaia added, leaning forward like a predator scenting weakness. "That wasn't the bet. Are you weaseling out of the bet?"
Caleb stood helplessly in the middle of our booth, surrounded by what he clearly viewed as enemy wolves. The irony wasn't lost on me—he'd come looking for an easy target. Now he was the one trapped, with his Alpha friend refusing to intervene.
