Author’s POV
If Lucian McAllister hadn’t played favourites and installed his girlfriend as the new vice president, the position should have gone to Sharon.
At least Sharon believed that to be the case.
Throughout the meeting, resentment simmered steadily beneath Sharon’s composed facade, intensifying with every praise directed toward Dorothy. Had the room conveniently forgotten all their glowing praises for her just weeks earlier? Apparently so.
"Any questions?" Dorothy asked lightly.
"Yes, actually," Sharon stood sharply, making the confrontation personal.
"Go ahead," Dorothy replied calmly.
"We're here due to Pinnacle's excellent reputation, the reason Aetheria agreed to partner with us," Sharon said pointedly, deliberately minimizing Dorothy’s contribution. Subtle glances exchanged around the table caught her implication clearly.
"However, given recent…stories online, how do you plan to maintain Aetheria’s confidence?"
