I'll Support You

••• Arabella’s POV ••• I stormed back to the bedroom, fuming with anger, with the three Omegas following behind. Max, who was now awake and sitting on the couch while reading some documents, looked up, placed the paper on the table, and came to take my hand. “What’s happening, Luna?” he asked carefully. “They.” I pointed to the two Omegas, then continued my words while pointing at Sarah, “Bullied her.” “Bullied?” Max looked surprised and looked at the three Omegas. “For reasons that make me mad!” I nearly stomped my foot if I was used to doing it because of how mad I was. “Tell me,” Max said to the two Omegas. I shot a look at the more silent one, asking her to be the one who talked. “We... We bullied her because she’s pretty and needs to serve David,” the Omega said with a trembling voice and eyes lowered. “David?” Max asked. “Your manager at the company,” I seethed. “He treats our Omegas as playthings to serve him in turns.” Max’s facial expression instantly darkened, and his aura turned cold after he listened to what was happening in his pack - the bullying and the treating of Omegas as personal sexual playthings. “We are sorry, Alpha Maximillian!” the three Omegas, Sarah included, knelt down and apologized to Max like they had done to me in the dining room. “We are not allowed to tell you about what’s happening with David,” the silent Omega said. “All the Omegas... We are all threatened by him. If we tell you, he will kill us!” the other Omega added. “He also said that even if they told Alpha Maximillian, it would be of no use because his father is one of the best warriors in this pack, and even Alpha Maximillian’s parents should respect him,” Sarah also added with a teary voice. “How long has this been going on?” Max asked with a cold, low voice that nearly sounded like a growl. “Two years...” Sarah was the one who answered in a small voice. I couldn't help the snarl that came out of my lips. Two years... David had bullied our Omegas for the past two years... “I’ll rip him apart!” Iris snarled in my mind as we thought of the abuse the Omegas had experienced under his coercion. Next to me, Max stood rigidly; his fists were clenched at his sides, his body was trembling slightly, his canines were showing, his eyes kept changing to Cyrus’, and his aura had become even colder. I could feel he was trying his best to control his anger, which could explode at any moment. He must feel that David was challenging his authority as the Alpha of the pack. Taking his large fist in my hand, I stroked the back of it with my thumb, trying to calm him down. His anger subsided a bit as he felt my hand, and we shared a look. “Keep this a secret for now. Don’t let anyone know that Alpha Maximillian and I know about this,” I ordered the three Omegas. Then I frowned when I saw Sarah’s bruise didn’t heal even a little bit. “Bring Sarah to the infirmary to get her bruise checked,” I ordered the two Omegas with firmness so they wouldn’t dare to disobey me. “You know what will happen if I ask the doctors later, and they said you didn’t bring Sarah for treatment.” “You may rise,” Max told them, and they obeyed him, standing up from their kneeling positions with their eyes lowered to the floor. “Thank you, Alpha Maximillian,” they bowed to Max and turned to bow to me. “Thank you, Luna Arabella.” Max waved his hand, dismissing them from our bedroom. Once we were alone, I pulled Max back toward the couch. “Max, let me handle this matter tomorrow,” I looked firmly into his eyes. “This is time for them to know who the Alpha and Luna of the Silentmane Canines Pack are and that they shouldn’t challenge our authority anymore.” Max smiled faintly and pulled me into his embrace, saying, “I’ll support you. You can do anything you want to do. You don't have to fear the consequences. I’ll bear them as your mate and the Alpha of the Silentmane Canines Pack.” I hugged him back and buried my face in his chest, inhaling the faint scent of my mate. I couldn't wait until we broke his curse and drowned in his scent. *** The next day at Max’s office’s conference room... I sat on Max’s right, Beta Jaxon sat on his left, and an assistant poured us coffee while we waited for everyone else to arrive. I had gathered all the Elders and managers in the company today just to talk about the issue of David and the Omegas. A few minutes later, the Elders began entering the room, followed by the younger managers, and sat down in their respective places. “Luna, David is the one with the specs and has an arrogant look,” I received Beta Jaxon's mindlink. I looked at the man he had pointed out and saw the air of arrogance exuding from him, just like Beta Jaxon had said. Young and quite handsome, but nothing compared to real men like Max or even Beta Jaxon. It must be because he had the backing of his father that he dared to act arrogantly. “What is this all about, Alpha Maximillian?” an Elder asked Max. “Luna is the one who has gathered us here. She has something to say,” Max said as he leaned back in his seat, his posture lazy, but his every pore still oozed the domineering aura of an Alpha. He turned to me and smiled, giving me the floor. “Luna Arabella.” I smiled back at him before fixing my gaze on David and stated the Omegas' accusations against him in a loud and clear voice. “David, you have done a crime of taking sexual advantage of the Omegas in our pack and threatened them with their lives if they ever dared to tell Alpha Maximillian about it.” However, he just sneered mockingly, not caring that his crimes were exposed. ”Those girls volunteered themselves to do that because they wanted money from me,” he mocked his victims for being prostitutes. “Bastard! Shameless and coward bastard!” Iris roared in my mind and tried to take control of my body. I clenched my fists tightly and shouted at my wolf, “Iris, calm down! Restrain your anger!” “But he’s so shameless and a coward. He dared not confess his crime and slandered the victims instead!” she growled. “It wouldn’t be good for us to lose control and shift at this point,” I told her. “We need to manage this issue without violence.” My words made Iris restrain her anger and back away to a corner of my mind. I swept my gaze across everyone who was present in the room and opened my mouth to announce, “From now on, David will not be working in this company anymore.” Then I turned my attention to David, who looked shocked. “David, you are fired from this company. Go to the HR department with Beta Jaxon to settle everything.” “Preposterous!” an Elder stood up abruptly from his seat and slammed his fist on the table in front of him. Judging from his anger and appearance, who looked similar to David, that Elder must be David’s father. He turned toward Max and accused, “Alpha Maximillian, are you going to let your Luna take charge of your company’s affair? This is beyond her rights!” Max sneered and said to David’s father, “It seems you are getting too old now and can’t think clearly.” “How dare you!” David’s father slammed his fist against the table again, and his body began trembling because of his anger. “I am an Elder of the pack!” Max sneered at him again. “And you seem to have forgotten that I am the Alpha of the pack, the one with absolute power to make any decision for the Silentmane Canines Pack and its members.” The Elder opened his mouth to retort, but Max beat him to it as he continued saying, “And Luna Arabella is my Luna, the Luna of the pack. That means she and I are on the same side. Her will is my will.” “Besides...” he added, and Beta Jaxon suddenly stood up and pointed to the big screen behind us, and the assistant suddenly distributed files to each person in the room. I turned around to see the had lighted up with monetary figures filling it. “David has embezzled money from the company. I had gathered all the data and evidence, and they are in the files that have been distributed to each of you and shown on the big screen,” Beta Jaxon picked up where Max left off. Everyone was shocked when they heard Beta Jaxon’s words and saw the data and evidence that had been displayed and presented to them, and so did I. Obviously, Max was well prepared. This must be what he meant by saying he would support me. Again, I couldn’t help but admire his consideration. “Those data are fakes!” David jumped from his seat and yelled as he pointed to the screen. Then he turned toward his father, begging him, “Dad, you must help me. I never embezzled money from the company. I never did such a thing!” The Elder was staring dagger at me when suddenly there was a knock on the door, and someone said, “Alpha Daniel has arrived.”
