Chapter 93
Scarlett’s POV:
The lighting in the car was dim. His eyes were hard to see, but when the light passed over, I caught a faint shimmer of tears in them.
My face remained calm, completely unreadable. My words, colder than my expression, cut through the silence.
“Mr. Robinson, thinking you still matter is a sickness. You should get help.”
His laugh was bitter and dry, laced with sorrow. “Then let’s do the DNA test at the hospital. Right now.”
I frowned. “Can you stop being unreasonable?”
But he didn’t budge. “If you expect me to believe this kid isn’t mine, you’d better prove it.”
Fed up, I stopped responding altogether.
Ten minutes later, the black Rolls-Royce pulled up in front of the hospital.
The passenger door swung open, and Eleanor hurried over to help me out of the car.
Without a word, I got out and linked arms with her, heading straight inside.
Behind me, Everett followed at a steady pace. His legs were long; he wasn’t rushing, but he didn’t fall behind either.
