Chapter 1710 Ansel Is Apprehended

With that being said, Goswin directly presented a copy of the voice recording to Olympias, saying, “Patriarch, this is yesterday’s recording.” Olympias turned on the voice recorder. It played the voices of Ansel and Jehan conversing in the study the day before. Olympias snorted coldly after she finished listening to the recording. “I hereby order Ansel to be arrested.” “Yes, Matriarch.” Goswin turned around and left as soon as he received the order. Meanwhile, Olympias and Tyr remained where they were. They played the recording once more. “Boss, it seems like the situation is getting more and more complicated. Who do you think recorded this?” “It’s most likely a spy who has been lurking by Ansel’s side,” Tyr replied. “Uncle Benoit?” “It shouldn’t be.” Tyr shook his head, “He’s part of the team that wants you dead.” *** The Justice Hall launched their operation outside Ansel’s house at nine o’clock in the morning. They surrounded the house’s entrance, leaving no gaps for anyone to enter nor exit. Several guards from Ansel’s residence rushed out of the building as soon as the door was opened. They exclaimed loudly, “Hey, what the hell are you all doing?” The person in charge of Justice Hall rushed out of the crowd. There was a long blade dangling down from his waist. He spoke coldly. “What are you all doing? Ansel is so daring that he sent someone to assassinate the matriarch, hence committing a treacherous act. Is he trying to incite a rebellion? Everyone, please put down your weapons and surrender. You are to be arrested right now.” “Are you f*cking kidding me?” The leading guard cursed angrily. “My master has never done anything like that.” “It’s not up to you whether he did it or not!” The person in charge was impatient. His subordinates rushed like a tidal wave toward Ansel’s mansion after he gave the order. Several fighters rushed out of the house at this point. Both sides were soon engaged in a battle. At this point, Ansel had already heard the news in the house. He immediately summoned Jehan to his room. “Dad!” When Jehan pushed the door open, he had a panicked expression on his face. “You b*stard!” Ansel kicked Jehan to the ground before he could say anything. “You beast, I already told you yesterday that I forbid you to do that kind of thing!” he roared. “Why didn’t you listen to me? How am I supposed to clean up your mess now that you’ve caused such big trouble? It’s over! Our family is doomed!” Ansel blew his top like a whistling kettle. He kicked Jehan several times in succession, causing the latter to let out a heartfelt howl. “Dad, stop it! Please stop! I’m not the one who did it. I didn’t send a hit squad to assassinate Olympias. It wasn’t me!” Jehan exclaimed. “You didn't do this?” Ansel exclaimed, stunned. “I didn’t do it!” Jehan panted heavily. Ansel’s punches were brutal, and they nearly killed him on the spot. “If you didn’t do it…” Ansel frowned, “What about your Uncle Benoit?” “Uncle Benoit didn’t do it either,” Jehan hastily explained. “You turned down our suggestion last night. We have nothing to do with this. All of our family’s power is in your hands. How could we send two Transformation assassins and a peak Transcendent assassin to kill Olympias? Dad, Uncle Benoit has been arrested. It was carried out personally by the Council of Elders, but he is innocent too.” Ansel was taken aback for a moment. In an instant, he was hit with a terrifying premonition. Many images flashed through his mind at this time. He exclaimed, “Whoever did this is cruel!” “Dad, those killers that were sent out last night weren’t your people?” At this time, Jehan finally realized what was going on. Ansel let out a low growl and said, “Even though I have a bad temper, I still have a limit in doing things. I’m not capable of fratricidal actions.” “Then…” Jehan was struck by lightning as well. “Someone is attempting to destroy us, Dad! What should we do now that everyone from the Justice Hall has arrived?” Ansel took a deep breath and asked, “Where is the Great Elder? Is he here yet?” “I. . . I don’t know.” Ansel didn’t say anything else. He simply strode toward the door. Two groups of people were fighting in the yard outside at the time. Ansel’s heart sank with helplessness as he witnessed the situation, and a shiver ran down his spine. “Stop it, all of you!” Ansel let out a deafening roar. Both sides, who had been fighting ferociously, came to a halt. “Proteus, what are you hoping to achieve by bringing so many people to my house and inciting a bloodbath? Are you looking down on me?” Ansel seethed angrily to the person leading the army. Normally, those guys would become lapdogs with him around, but all Ansel could see was contempt and smugness from their expressions. Their attitudes irritated him greatly. Proteus, also known as the person in charge, turned around and approached Ansel. He said, “Master Ansel, we are just carrying out our orders. Please don't make things difficult for us. Now, I’d like to invite you to come with us to Justice Hall for further investigation.” “Who the f*ck do you think you are? What qualifications do you have to tell my father what to do?” Jehan approached him and slapped Proteus across the face heavily. Proteus may have appeared to be pompous just now, but he chickened out when people like Ansel and Jehan walked out of the house. Even if Ansel had made a grave mistake, given his position as the White family’s Master Ansel, he would not allow Proteus, a mere person in charge of Justice Hall, to show off his power here. “Master Ansel, we are just following the rules.” Ansel narrowed his eyes and retorted, “Rules? Who made the rules? Tell me...who sent you here to arrest me?” For a moment, Proteus was silent, which led to Ansel roaring thunderously, “Say it!” “It’s Master… Master Jules!” Proteus replied. “They have obtained the evidence that it was you who sent someone to assassinate the matriarch.” “He’s talking nonsense.” Ansel was so pissed that the blue veins on his forehead bulged up one by one. He said, “A clean hand wants no washing. I will never do anything that is lower than my own principles. Jules wants to use these false charges to f*ck me up. He’s gutsy, I’ll give him that.” Proteus suggested, “Master Ansel, if you are really as innocent as you claim to be, then please return with me to Justice Hall and cooperate with our investigation. We will certainly clear your name if it isn’t your fault.” “F*ck off! Don’t you know my identity in this family?” Ansel yelled directly at him. I don’t give a f*ck about Justice Hall, but if you dare to accuse me of false charges, don’t blame me for being rude to you!” Ansel refused to admit that he had sent someone to assassinate Olympias. Thus, he was unwilling to go to Justice Hall with Proteus for an investigation, which immediately put Proteus in a dilemma. Another group of people barged in through the door at that moment. Quent was the one who took the lead. He was accompanied by several elders from the Council of Elders.
