"Damn it!" Vanessa smashed a glass to the ground, eyes filled with fury.
Matthew frowned on the video call. "Mom, what happened now?"
"That damn Delia slipped away again!"
Matthew clenched his fist, jaw tightening. "Seriously? Didn't we hire several mercenaries? How the hell did she escape this time?"
"How would I know?" Vanessa snapped back. "None of the people we sent out can be reached."
"Then how do you even know Delia's still alive?"
"Someone tailing Curtis told me. That little witch is sticking close to him, alive and well!"
Matthew's brows drew together. "That doesn't make any sense. What about Nathan? Weren't he and Isabelle pretty confident?"
"Who knows!" Vanessa gritted out, her anger boiling over. "Damn it, if I'd known Nathan would be this useless, I'd never have wasted my time and money pulling him out of jail!" Just the thought made her want to kick herself-what a freaking joke.
