After three days of mourning for Daphne, Delia and her group finally started heading back.
Wyatt, true to form, barely said a word along the way. Unless he was chatting with Delia, he pretty much stayed silent - the strong, silent type, probably got it from Daphne. Otherwise, why else would the whole family move so far from Redwillow?
Curtis had already gotten a heads-up from Delia earlier that morning - she was on the way home. That day, he ditched work entirely.
He had Edith whip up all her favorite dishes, wanted to make sure she had hot food ready the second she walked through the door.
Weirdly, Curtis spent the whole day parked by the study window, eyes glued to the front gate like he was waiting for a miracle or something.
