The meeting place was actually picked by Delia Fleming herself, but she didn’t expect Gordon Jenkins to choose their own family’s café.
Aunt Edith had wanted to tag along, but Delia insisted on going alone. Last time she met Mr. Jenkins, he’d left a pretty good impression—seemed like a decent old guy, not the shady type.
Alex followed her into the private room, but it turned out Gordon was the only one inside. Delia waved for Alex to wait outside, not wanting the old man to overthink anything.
"Mr. Jenkins." Delia gave him a polite nod.
Gordon’s eyes landed on her noticeably pregnant belly and for a second, he just froze, completely stunned.
Delia raised an eyebrow, "Mr. Jenkins?"
"Oh! I’m so sorry, I... I lost myself there." Gordon finally snapped out of it. The man was the picture of an old-school gentleman—he quickly stepped forward and shook Delia’s hand. "Miss Fleming, thank you so much for meeting with me today."
Delia smiled politely. "It’s my honor to meet you, Mr. Jenkins."
