The boss responded right away, “Got it.”
He waved his hand, and the drunk guy was immediately dragged out.
“Sorry for the disruption, Mr. Evans.”
“No big deal, thanks for the help,” Henry Evans replied casually.
Then he turned to look at Clara Bennett, a faint sparkle of amusement still flickering in his eyes. “Clara, what are you doing in a place like this?”
“Looking for a friend. What about you? Didn’t expect to see you here either.”
Henry smiled and said, “Come on, don’t call me ‘Mr. Evans.’ Makes it sound like we’re strangers. You’re gonna be my sister-in-law, just call me Henry. Funny thing is, I’m here to meet someone too, but looks like I bumped into you instead!”
“Oh right, who were you looking for?” he added. “Maybe I can help—some of my friends hang out here too.”
“It’s fine, he already left. I’m just wandering around now—it’s my first time in a place like this.”
Clara hadn’t planned to waste much time here, but running into Henry changed things. It didn’t feel right to chase
