Chapter 292

"Alrighty!" Jane agreed in her sweet and mellow voice, her small hands viciously grabbing onto the ankles of the Gluttonous Ghost. She dragged it towards Blackie's spirit bracelet to stuff it in. Blackie was shocked, his feline eyes widened in surprise. This little crybaby, who usually struggled even to twist a cap off a bottle of water, how could she have such strength when grabbing a ghost? "Argh— I'm going to devour you!" The Gluttonous Ghost roared in rage, its gaping mouth lunged at Jane. Blackie leaped up fiercely, using all his strength to forcefully ram into the face of the Gluttonous Ghost. It swayed due to the impact! Jane quickly took advantage of this opportunity and stuffed the Gluttonous Ghost's feet into the bracelet on Blackie's leg. The Gluttonous Ghost struggled desperately, extending its large hand, attempting to catch Bryan! It couldn't be captured, it was about to possess the boy's body and return to the human world! While Blackie was biting and attempting to stuff the Gluttonous Ghost into the bracelet, Jane resolutely stepped hard on the hand that was reaching out for Bryan. The Gluttonous Ghost seized the opportunity too, opening its huge mouth, intending to devour Jane in one bite. However, once its mouth was open, it couldn't close again! Jane raised both her fair and tender hands, desperately holding its upper jaw! Blackie watched in complete astonishment, "Impressive!" While Blackie marveled, he loosened his grip, and the Gluttonous Ghost broke free instantly. Forsaking Jane, it turned around and smacked Blackie. Blackie was flung out once again. This time, without Jane to catch him, he crashed into the wall hard, sliding to the floor. Jane wanted to help Blackie, but the Gluttonous Ghost grabbed her and tried to stuff her into its massive, blood-filled maw! Captured, Jane, despite her strength, couldn't move a muscle. "Crash!" The sound of a shattered window rang out, and a cool, black figure came in from the outside, delivering a kick to the Gluttonous Ghost. The Gluttonous Ghost was sent flying. Jane broke free from the Gluttonous Ghost’s restraint! Looking at the newcomer with a surprised, tender face, she exclaimed, "Sister Daisy, you're here!" "Idiot!" Daisy rolled her eyes and scolded, "Go get me that stupid cat!" Jane hurriedly scurried over on her short legs to fetch Blackie. Daisy placed a charm on the Gluttonous Ghost, grabbing it with one hand and trying to drag it into Blackie's spirit-bond bracelet. Jane immediately joined in to help, pushing the Gluttonous Ghost into the spirit-bond bracelet. "Sister Daisy, Blackie won't be in trouble, right?" Jane asked worriedly. Daisy glanced sidelong at Blackie and slapped its cat head, "Get up, stop pretending to be dead!" Blackie erupted instantly, "You heartless, rotten woman, how many times have I told you not to touch this cat's head?" "Huh!" Daisy scoffed dismissively, "You have the nerve to get angry? If it wasn't for me arriving early, you and Jane would be in the belly of the Gluttonous Ghost by now! What can you do as a low-level spirit cat? Didn't I tell you to wait for me, and then we can deal with the gluttonous ghost together?" Blackie's proud cat head finally dropped, mumbling: "You can't blame this cat for this matter, mainly it was Little Crybaby who gave me a bit of catnip, so I got a little tipsy..." Daisy: "....." "You gave it catnip?" Daisy turned around and asked Jane speechlessly. Jane pinched her right hand with her left, "Just... a little bit!" "Alright, you and this silly cat are indeed quite suitable," Daisy said without words. --- Lucas rushed home with the equipment he had been busy with all day. Since Jane had already said that Bryan was controlled by the Gluttonous Ghost to binge eat, then, as long as he solved that so-called Gluttonous Ghost, everything would be fine. From a scientific perspective, a ghost is just a kind of energy that exists in this world. Since people can aggregate that energy by scientific means, then he can also use scientific means to disperse that energy! Upon arriving home, he headed straight to Bryan's room. Opening the door, he saw Bryan sitting on the floor, head hung low, sleeping soundly. Meanwhile, Jane and the black cat were humbling themselves in front of a little girl dressed entirely in black, looking guilty as sin. "Jane, what's happening here?" Lucas asked, somewhat puzzled, "Is this little friend of yours?" "Brother Lucas, you're finally here. This is Daisy!" Jane scurried over to Lucas, latching onto his leg as she cheerily introduced the new face. Lucas instinctively picked up Jane and cradled her in his arms, "So you're Daisy?" "Mhm!" Daisy arrogantly responded with a grunt, not even glancing at Lucas as she addressed Jane, "I'm leaving. Solve your problems with the stupid cat yourself in the future. I have other tasks to do and no time to deal with you." With that, she squeezed herself through the torn window and left... "Daisy, actually…" You could've used the door… Before Jane could finish, a loud "thump" resounded. She shivered instinctively. She happened to overhear from Blackie that the other night, Daisy had fallen straight down from the window, landing on her rear. Once Daisy left, Blackie, clearly full of himself, lifted up his cat head, "Heh, ungrateful stupid woman, serves you right!” Jane gave Blackie a pointed look, her gaze clearly asking why he hadn't been so outspoken when Daisy was around. Ignoring her, Blackie swished his tail, strutting out the door. Without walking far, he turned back, "By the way, as my reward for helping you catch this glutton, you need to tell your foolish brothers that Master Meow wants a room renovation. Just look at the decor in your room, what a sight it is! Either it's white dogs or pink pigs, with all sorts of pink stuff everywhere. How could a room like this suit Master Meow with my cool and suave personality?" "So, how do you want your room to be decorated?" Jane took the matter seriously and discussed with Blackie. Blackie, with an earnest cat-face, thought about it and replied, "Well then, let's change everything to small dried fish and small sparrows theme! By the way, I saw a small woods while strolling around this villa today, go and buy me a hundred or so sparrows to keep. It's for me to catch and play in my spare time." Jane: "......" Your cat-like requirements are quite demanding, aren't they? Standing by, Lucas watched the back-and-forth between Jane and black cat, and slightly stunned, asked Jane, "Jane, can you understand Little Black's words, or do you understand cat language?" The child raised her cherry blossom petal-like plump little face, her obsidian-like big eyes blinked, "I only understand Little Black's words, Daisy said that it's because Little Black is a spirit cat, spirit cats and their owners can communicate telepathically!"
