Chapter 270

Jane widened her crystal grape-like sparkling eyes, watching Daisy's silhouette as she followed Cecelia and Veronica into the room to put away her luggage. In fact, the moment she saw Daisy, she found this little girl different. Despite wearing a pure white princess dress, it gave off a somewhat oppressive and chilling aura. Bryan noticed Jane who was staring blankly at the entrance of the pumpkin house. He asked curiously, “Sis, what are you looking at?” He bent over to look from Jane's perspective, but he didn't see anything. Jane turned around. Speaking in her toddler-like voice to Bryan, she said: "Jane thinks that sister is really cool and wants to wait for her to come out and play." Bryan confessed his complete lack of understanding, "She's cool while wearing a princess dress?" Jane furrowed her brows and puffed out her little belly. Looking at her big brother, she said earnestly, "Coolness is an attitude, do you understand? Just like Jane, super stylish!" Auden laughed out loud at this, "Jane, do you have a misunderstanding about what an attitude means?" Little Jane blinked her big eyes, looking at Auden, "Brother, when you laugh like that, it doesn't have any style at all!" "Then teach your brother, how should he laugh to be stylish?" Auden teased Little Jane. "Like this..." Jane stood up straight, chest out, trying to twiddle the muscles around her mouth. She cocked her mouth and attempted to give a charming smirk. This smirky expression on a baby's face was so hilariously adorable that everyone in the room couldn't help but burst out laughing. Jane blinked her big, innocent and helpless eyes at a group of adults who were laughing so hard that they could barely stand up straight. Why are adults so childish? Looking at Bryan who was nearly rolling around with laughter... She suddenly regretted bringing her little brother along, she should have come with her sister. In crucial moments, only her sister truly understands her! At this time, the comments section was also filled with laughter. I can't take it, I'm laughing so hard, how can this girl be so funny! The truth has come out, Jane really has a misunderstanding about grace! Jane's strong interpretation: The boss's charming smile causes a muscle cramp in his face! ... Just as Jane was regretting, her eyes suddenly brightened when she saw Daisy wearing a new shirt and overalls coming out from the room. She quickly ran over, "Miss, what's your name, can I play with you?" Daisy's little face was cold and cool, "I don't want to play with you!" Following Daisy out came Cecelia, "Daisy, don't be rude!" She squatted down and looked at Jane with a soft face, "Little girl, your name is Jane, right? You're so cute!" "Sister, you're also very beautiful, your eyes are the most beautiful! They're like the stars in the sky." Jane said with a radiant smile full of innocence. However, right as she finished speaking, Daisy, who had just walked away without paying any heed to her, suddenly turned around. She stood in between her and Cecelia, her eyebrows furrowed as she glared at her fiercely, "You're not allowed to look at my sister's eyes." Cecelia's eyebrows slightly knitted together as she turned Daisy around to face her, gazing into her eyes, patiently enlightening her, "Daisy, what's gotten into you today? Why are you being so unfriendly towards Jane?" Daisy puckered up her face, "Because she's not like the other kids." "How is she different? Jane is such a sweetheart." Continued Cecelia, her patience never wavering. Daisy lowered her head and muttered in a low voice, "You wouldn't understand even if I told you." Cecelia didn't quite catch that, "Hm? What did you say?" Daisy lifted her head, "Nothing, I'll play nicely with her." Having settled the situation on Cecelia's end, Lorraine had already started his discussion with their guest groups. "With Tony taking care of the cooking, and Hua preparing the firewood, the rest of us should split into two groups. One group will take care of the piglets in our pen with our lovely lady, and find food for them. The other group will come with me to harvest corn." Lorraine paused for a moment, then suggested, "Jordan, how about this, since we're the only two men here, let's us two handle the corn harvesting. Let the girls have an easier task: they can forage for vegetables to feed the piglets, how's that sound?" Jordan turned to look at Jane, "Jane, do you want to work with brother or with the sisters?" Jane, with her bright and sparkling eyes blinked, "Brother, can I play with Daisy? Is that okay?" Jordan turned his head, his gaze sternly turning to Bryan, "Bryan, you need to stick with your sister, protect her well!" Bryan rolled his eyes, "Like I needed you to tell me that!" After delegating their tasks, the group split their forces. Jane stayed closely behind Daisy, like a little tail following her. But Daisy ignored her the entire time. Only when they reached the vegetable field, with Cecelia and Veronica concentrating on picking the leaves, and Bryan freely frolicking around the vast rural space like a monkey, did Daisy stand in a quiet corner and beckon Jane, "Come here!" Jane scampered over with her stubby little legs. She had, in fact, been looking for a chance to talk to Daisy alone all this time. The two little girls switched off their microphones in sync. Watching Jane switch her microphone off, Daisy chuckled. This girl's soul truly didn't belong here. "Why are you here?" As Jane got closer, Daisy asked directly. With her back to the camera, Jane's adorable little face became stern, yet she replied honestly, "I came back to save my brothers." Daisy seemed to ponder a moment, then with a frown she replied, "You can't save them. Furthermore, if you continue to stay here with them, your ending will be even worse than theirs!" Before Jane had a chance to speak, she continued, "There should be a benefactor by your side. If you had stayed in your original world, he could have saved you. But now that you've come here to court death, he might die with you too!" Jane's breath hitched, a deep sense of sadness and powerlessness overwhelmed her. Even though she previously thought that, despite her efforts to change many things, the major crises that originally befell her brothers didn't change. Big Brother's accident, Brother Samuel's racing incident, Brother Jordan's stage accident, including Bryan being forced to inject that evil substance, had all happened. Only because of her presence, it didn't lead to horrific consequences like it did in her past life. But she was constantly worried. She can change these events once, but what if they happen a second time? Daisy looked at her in a daze, her pair of jet-black pupils devoid of any emotion. "If you want to return to your original world, I can help you!" After a brief moment of sadness, Jane laughed. "No need, if I want to return, I don't need anyone's help, I can do it myself! But I don't want to go back, no matter how miserable I end up, even if I'm torn to pieces, I want to be with my brothers." When Jane spoke, the determination and resolve in her sparkling clear eyes, like iced grapes, somewhat shocked Daisy.
