The moonlight spilled in like liquid silver. Hazel’s large, clear eyes remained wide open in the darkness—uncharacteristically sleepless tonight.
She never would’ve guessed that sweet, adorable Helen could snore after getting drunk! While not thunderous, the sound was persistent enough to keep her awake.

By morning, Helen woke up bright-eyed and brimming with energy. No hangover in sight.
Blinking groggily, she scanned her surroundings. Though her head was still a bit fuzzy, fragments of last night slowly returned—she’d gotten drunk and was brought home by her classmate, Little Hazel.
The room was modest: a wardrobe, a desk, and the narrow bed she now occupied. Clean and tidy, yes—but tiny. Smaller than her bathroom back home.
Helen shook her head in sympathy. Poor Little Hazel. Life must be tough for her.
