Chapter 145
Eleanor's expression darkened further upon hearing Diana's words. "You haven't even tried, and you're already saying it's impossible. You just don't want to help!"
Diana was left in utter disbelief at Eleanor's ability to distort the truth. She never imagined that her once-obedient younger sister would become so selfish and short-sighted, driven solely by personal gain.
"Look, you now realize you're in the wrong and have nothing to say, right?" Eleanor taunted when Diana remained silent.
Her boldness grew as she continued, "If you weren't my sister, I wouldn't even be here asking for your help.
"We've already humbled ourselves to ask for your help, and yet you're still putting on airs and refusing to assist. Do you have no conscience?"
Diana's frustration was mounting to the point of causing a heart attack. "So you're saying this is my fault? You're just forcing us to do things beyond our power. No one in the Henderson family can help with this!"
"I can," Yolanda interjected.
"Shut up!" Diana, already fuming, snapped coldly. "Don't make things worse right now, Yolanda."
Yvonne, seizing the moment, added, "This isn't the time to be stubborn, Yolanda. I know you're eager to show yourself in front of Mom, but this approach will only bring trouble to our family."
Diana's previous fondness for Yolanda vanished entirely when she compared Yolanda, who only brought trouble, to Yvonne's sensible demeanor.
"Look at yourself. Even though you're older than Yvonne, she's still more sensible at crucial moments. You couldn't possibly know anyone from the Hansen family. Stop lying and making a fool of yourself!"
Yolanda, undeterred by Yvonne's provocations and Diana's doubts, pulled out her phone and dialed Brigham's number.
"Ms. Henderson, I was just about to call you," Brigham answered politely.
"Really? What's the matter?" Yolanda asked.
"Actually, my grandpa's health has fully recovered. I was mistaken before and doubted your medical skills. I wanted to apologize."
Despite his sometimes impulsive nature, Brigham wasn't one to stubbornly refuse to admit his mistakes. Since Yolanda had cured Nigel, she was a benefactor to both the Hansen family and Brigham himself.
"Are you free for lunch tomorrow? There's a restaurant next to my office with many special dishes. I think you'd enjoy it."
"I have school tomorrow," Yolanda replied calmly.
"We can use the lunch break. I'll drive you back to school afterward," Brigham offered.
After some thought, Yolanda agreed. "Okay, I'll come by tomorrow afternoon."
Tomorrow afternoon was the club activity time at First Academy. Since she hadn't joined any clubs and had nothing to do at school, she could hand over the prescription she prepared for Nigel to Brigham.
"By the way, why did you call me?" Only then did Brigham recall that Yolanda was the one who called him.
"I have a contact named Bailee Whitmore. She's a graduate of Riverdale College. She's looking to work in the design department at Starry Gemworks."
"Sure. I'll have the HR manager call her shortly."
After Yolanda ended the call, Eleanor sneered, "Ha! Just keep pretending! Let's go, Bailee."
