Chapter 183: His Missing Mate

I decided on the second day since Xenois left to give the cure to Marcus that I couldn't stay away from Zade's room any longer. My nerves were about to give out by staying in my room trying not to crowd Zade especially when he hadn't asked for me to stay specifically and I didn't want to assume that I had that sort of authority especially with everything unsaid going between us.
As much as the temporary antidote Riley had provided was working wonders, I still needed to see for myself that he was resting and recovering properly, because that curse was no mere curse. The curse marks on his skin had faded somewhat, and the pain seemed to be manageable now like a dull ache in the bones, which only hurt when he exaggerated his strength, but that didn't mean he should be pushing himself.
When I reached his bedroom door, I knocked softly to alert him to my presence before entering inside the room, closing the door softly.. "Zade? How are you feeling?"
The room was empty.
