Beautiful Beyond Recognition

Valentina returned home today, so Augus made a special trip by car to the airport in the city center. He was holding flowers, waiting at the arrival gate far in advance. The crowd was sizable, and in order not to be missed by Valentina when she came out, Augus squeezed in the front row, carefully guarding the flowers in his hand. As passengers started trickling out, Augus was trying to spot Valentina, but half of the passengers had already been out, and she was nowhere to be found. Instead, he noticed a girl with a strikingly outstanding aura, so very eye-catching. She was extremely beautiful, with a delicate and high-bridged nose. She was wearing sunglasses, revealing a half face of delicate white skin. Her lips, even without any lipstick, were rosy. She was dressed in white leather attire that was wildly attractive. Despite the simplicity and casualness of her outfit, it gave off a relaxed and chic vibe, making her appear easy-going. But the girl's temperament was too overwhelming, intimidating any ordinary person from daring to approach. Everyone's gaze was uniformly fixed on her. Some even turned their heads for another look after passing by, guessing she might be some wealthy lady from a big city. Living in a small town like Li Cheng, Augus had never seen such a beautiful woman with such a dignified air. He returned his gaze and continued to keep an eye on the exit. Suddenly, he felt something, then looked at his side. There was the girl he had noticed earlier, standing beside him, facing him. The girl was wearing sunglasses, making it unclear whether she was looking at him or not. So, Augus looked around and found everyone was staring at him. Because of the girl, he had become the center of attention. The girl reached out to get the flowers in his hand. Augus shielded them, moving a step aside. He asked, ".... Can I help you?" His face felt a tad warm, uncertain if it was because of the girl or the crowd's gaze. "Has the change been this great?" Valentina wondered, as she removed her sunglasses. "Isn't this flower for me?" Augus was stunned as he gazed at the face in front of him, a face so perfectly exquisite from her eyebrows down to her facial shape. When Valentina left, she was still on the chubby side, a stark contrast to her current appearance - a transformation that could truly be described as substantial. Uncertain, he called out, "Sis...?" Augus looked the girl up and down, his mind churned by waves of shock. With disbelief painted across his face, he uttered, "You...are you really my sister?" "Who else could I be? Your brother?" Valentina took the flowers from his hands. Augus still found it hard to believe. He knew that Valentina would look beautiful once she lost weight, but he never imagined she would look this beautiful. In his understanding, people this beautiful only existed on TV, didn't they? Now not only did that person appear in front of him, but it was also his sister. After the shock faded, Augus was overjoyed and happy for Valentina. From childhood, his older sister had been subjected to all kinds of harsh words. Even their loved ones didn't hesitate to strike her down verbally. Having a physical disability himself, Augus shared similar experiences of personal attacks with his sister, and over the years, they'd become almost numb to it. He could empathize most profoundly. "It's been so long. Shall we hug?" Valentina asked. Augus didn't hesitate, immediately pulling her into a warm embrace: "Sis." His face couldn't conceal his surprised joy and happiness. Carrying Valentina's luggage, William emerged only to witness a young boy hugging Valentina tightly. No need to think about it, this must have been permitted by Mo Shuyun, otherwise she would have already been discarded. In front, there was a wealthy friend who affectionately called her "baby." Behind stood a young teenage boy who came to meet her with flowers. Indeed, she had many friends of the opposite sex. William recognized the young boy as the same one who was walking next to Valentina when he first saw her through the car window. Augus let go of the person he was holding, looked at Mo Shuyun's face again, which he was still not used to and asked, "Sis, where have you been these past two months?” Mo Shuyun: "Diet and travel." Augus nodded, "Where's your luggage?" A deep male voice took over for him: "The luggage is right here." When Augus looked up, in front of him stood a man who was 1.9 meters tall, wearing a suit and leather shoes, exuding an commanding aura. His features were cold and handsome. A first glance told Augus that this was no average guy. The several men dressed in black who trailed behind him reminded him of bodyguards from TV dramas. This sight scared the others around, making them avoiding further. Thanks to Mo Shuyun, the most powerful person Augus had seen so far in his life was the city mayor, but there was no comparison between the mayor and the man in front of him on any level. The man, with one hand in his trouser pocket and the other holding the luggage handle, was cool, distinguished, and emanated an overwhelming oppressive air. He gave off an aura that discouraged anyone from daring to offend him. Extending a hand towards Augus, he introduced himself, full of charisma: "William." Augus tightened his grip on his sister's hand before letting go. "Sis, who is he?" William raised his eyebrow slightly, his aura suddenly pulled back, and he let go of his hand as well. "A younger brother?" He said, slightly puzzled. "We met him while traveling." Valentina introduced him to Augus this way. William looked at her and then nodded slightly. He got used to it. They bumped into someone like him on their journey? Augus knew it certainly wasn’t that simple. At this moment, he heard Valentina introduce him to the stranger: "This is my brother." The stranger graciously responded to Augus: "Nice to meet you for the first time. I didn't bring any gifts, but I'll definitely make it up next time." He's a stranger, why should he give any gifts all of a sudden? Is this how all these rich, high-status people socialize? And who's to say they'll bump into each other next time? Perhaps it was just a polite remark. Augus thought to himself. "Let me handle the luggage." Valentina reached out, took the suitcase, and casually passed it to Augus. Seeing Valentina's actions, William thought to himself: It seems like she really doesn’t like this suitcase. William specifically chose this pink suitcase for her, thinking that a young girl like her would like it. Evidently, Valentina was not your ordinary young girl. She didn't even want to carry it. "My flight back to Biddeford is at three in the afternoon, Miss Ricardo, wouldn't you like to invite me over for a cup of tea?" William asked. He had already ordered his subordinate to prepare a gift for visiting. Valentina straightforwardly replied, "I can pay for a nice hotel room for Mr. Felton." William was momentarily at a loss for words, then chuckled quietly and nodded. Valentina: "Trust me, you wouldn't want to come to my house; my humble abode is not fit for such a great Buddha like you." She definitely didn't want him to face the snobbish side of Selena. William: "Then we'll meet again in the Biddeford." Valentina handed her sunglasses back to him: "We'll see." Then she left with Augus. William stood still, watching them leave. They both hailed a taxi after exiting the airport. Valentina noticed Augus occasionally stealing glances at her, his hand still clutching the pocket of his pants. Valentina asked, "Do you have something for me?" Augus hesitated before taking out the item from his pocket. A perfectly square and pretty gift box. Valentina took it, opened the box, and found a ladies' wristwatch inside. It had an artistic vibe, in retro green, more pleasant to the eye than the color of the suitcase. "Could give me the flowers, but not brave enough to gift me this watch?" Valentina said, slipping the watch onto her wrist. "I wanted to give it to you," Augus scratched the back of his head, "but then I suddenly felt... that it's not good enough for you." This watch was bought with the money Augus earned from his summer job. Knowing that Valentina was not short on cash, this thing worth over a thousand yuan was undoubtedly cheap stuff to her. He already had mixed feelings about it, and after seeing how beautiful Valentina had become, he felt even more that this watch was beneath her. Saying that, Augus glanced at Valentina. Valentina had her head slightly lowered while fitting the watch, her soft side face was perfection. The sight made the teenage boy's heart beat faster inexplicably, feeling shy. "Quite good," Valentina said. Augus pursed his lips, shyly smiling, with excitement in his heart. "How's your foot now?" Valentina asked. Augus immediately rolled up his trouser leg, his eyes gleaming. Somewhat excited, he said, "Look, both mom and dad said I walk much better now, and I have also grown three centimeters taller." The possibility of the foot affecting his height growth was considered, initially, he thought he could grow up to 1.7 meters at most, unexpectedly he still grew. "Recovery is not bad," Valentina glanced. Importantly, there's a change in Augus's heart; in the past, he would never willingly roll up his trouser leg in public. "By the way, sister, our second sister also got admitted to Biddeford University, she went to Biddeford to register a few days ago," Augus mentioned. Valentina didn't really care. The old Ricardo family house was renovated, the courtyard wall and everything were re-laid, and the main gate was also replaced. "It's mom." Augus noticed their mother walking ahead. Selena was dressed brightly, with makeup on, looking a decade younger from behind, chatting and laughing with the neighbors on her way home. The neighbors flattered Selena, which she was quite enjoying. Upon reaching the gate of the house, Selena realized Augus was following behind her, accompanied by a breathtakingly beautiful girl. "Oh, Augus, is this your friend?" Selena's shrewd eyes inspected Valentina. She wondered how could someone be so good-looking, with such a good temperament, she could tell at a glance this was a child from a wealthy family.
