Big Bang

On the open-air balcony, the coffee had already cooled down, losing its aroma. Only then did Valentina leisurely return. The way she came back was like she had been wandering in her own backyard, oblivious to the armed individuals around her - couldn't be more carefree. "Mr. Felton, have you concluded the business? It's getting late, and I'm a bit hungry," Valentina said. "I see." William stood up, walking over to Valentina. "Let's go back then." But before they could leave, the dark muzzles of guns were trained on them. William turned around, coldly looking at Isaias. Isaias bit on his cigar, his gaze lingering on William for a few seconds before shifting to Valentina. After a while, Isaias gestured, instructing his men to put their guns away. "You only have three days," William spoke to Isaias and then left swiftly with his men. "Boss, why did you let them leave? We could have taken this opportunity and finished it all in one go," A subordinate came over to Isaias, making a throat-slitting gesture. Isaias slightly shook his head, his gaze following Valentina standing next to William. In the beginning, he had taken Valentina as just an ordinary woman by William's side, no different from the two in his arms. However, Valentina had just reminded him of that bewitching young girl. That young girl was not just eye candy. Back then, although the girl had not made any move, something told him she might be more terrifying than Grey, the one who took his eye. The painful lesson had taught Isaias that those who appear harmless but possess extraordinary calmness were never to be trifled with. Just the existence of William made him apprehensive. If that girl was also one of those intimidating figures... then no matter what he did, it would be akin to walking the path of suicide. William and his party stepped out of the village and drove away. The car had just pulled out a few dozen feet. Suddenly, a booming sound echoed. Following that, as if one single shift had set off a chain reaction, a series of booms filled the air. Leonard, who just left the main village and was still keyed up, jumped in fright, almost leaping out of his seat. He hastily ducked his head to evade, his heart pounding like it was about to burst out of his chest. The loud explosion caused a dull, throbbing pain in everyone's ears. Leonard looked up and saw the once beautiful village now ablaze with brilliant flames and billowing black smoke. A cacophony of sounds continuously came from the village. At the blast, the guards at the gate were scared stiff, falling onto their bums one after the other. Once they regained their senses, they scrambled towards the village. "What the hell is going on?" Leonard, looking at the scene before him, was taken aback. William's face remained impassive. It seemed like he was mentally prepared for this. Even the explosion didn't frighten him. He said nonchalantly, "Dry weather and improper storage might lead to spontaneous combustion and explosion. Let's go." 'Dry weather? 'For God's sake, blame it on dry weather! 'The village is damp and chilly all around! 'After spending the night with Miss Ricardo, Mr. William has learned to talk nonsense as she does, huh? 'To comfort Valentina, he couldn't be this outrageous.' Leonard complained in his heart. He quickly stepped on the accelerator to leave this place of trouble. "Miss Ricardo, were you scared?" William asked with concern. "Not really. It's like watching the fireworks, just my ears hurt a bit from the shock." Valentina said, covering her ears with her hands. William watched Valentina covering her ears, his eyes obscure. The corners of his mouth curled up with a faint smile. "These things have too many chemical components. The black smoke they emit is much worse than fireworks. If you like fireworks, I can show you. Fireworks aren’t banned in Chadron." 'How could this be compared to fireworks? 'This is a goddamn huge explosion!' Leonard could really not understand the way these two were chatting. "Mr. William, the scale of this explosion... Could it be the explosion of Isaias's ammunition depot? Who might have done it?" Only a dunce would believe in the dry weather self-combustion explosion theory of William. "They won't pin this on us, will they?" Leonard looked at the village engulfed in towering flames in the rearview mirror. This was his concern. They had just failed in negotiating, just stepped out of their territory, and then their den was blown up. This blame would certainly fall heavily on them. With an explosion of this magnitude, many people must have died. "Will it be blamed on you? What should we do then?" Valentina looked worriedly at William. Observing Valentina, who seemed to detach herself completely yet was unwilling to fully commit to her performance, William said seriously, "Don't worry. The innocent have nothing to fear." Leonard lost control of his expression for the second time today. "What are you talking about?" Did Mr. William sleep badly on the sofa last night and he had yet to fully wake? Was that his style? Valentina nodded. "That makes sense. You're upright and not afraid of their slander." William took a bottle of mineral water, opened it, and handed it to Valentina, saying, "There is no food in the car. Sorry for the inconvenience." Valentina took a sip. "It's okay, I can hold on for a while, and we can eat when we get back to the hotel." Leonard thought, 'Why do I feel I'm the extra one?' As soon as the car returned to the hotel, William led the group straight to the dining area on the eighth floor. Only after Valentina was full did they go to the top floor. William took out the room card, opened the door, and turned around, only to find two people following him - Leonard and Valentina. Leonard, sandwiched in the middle, sensed something, turned around, and was surprised to see Valentina standing behind him. Before he could even speak, William suddenly spoke, "Do you need something?" Leonard faintly felt that those words were aimed at him, so he turned his head back to look. As he expected, he saw William looking at him with an indifferent expression. Leonard inexplicably felt a chill running down his spine. "I... I still have a few words to say." William replied, "Speak at dinnertime." Leonard's legs trembled. "Yes." He hurriedly left the space between the two. Just as he had taken a few steps away, he heard William gently and softly inquiring Valentina, "Miss Ricardo, are you also afraid to stay alone in the room during the day?" Such difference in treatment! Valentina responded, "Isn't it because I'm worried that those people in the village might blame the explosion on you and come to cause trouble?" William fell silent, smiling to comfort her. However, his expression held a hint of helplessness. William invited her into his room. The situation was crucial; Leonard could only call William in the room to reveal his suspicions. He suspected that the explosion was the handiwork of the Hurricane Mercenaries who had been following them. They aimed to frame them, and the reason they were doing this was definitely because of Valentina. Leonard was growing more and more curious about the feud between Valentina and the Hurricane. The analysis of Leonard was reasonable and well-founded. However, William commented, "You have brains, but not much of it." Then he hung up his call. Leonard was stunned. Just now, the signal indeed wasn't good in the stockade, and Valentina's messages couldn't get through. Now, Valentina was sitting on the couch in the living room, messaging Augus. As she was chatting, she suddenly felt a surge of pain in her lower abdomen, followed by a rush of warmth below. Valentina's typing hand paused and her eyebrows knit together. "What's wrong?" William pocketed his phone in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows and turned around, only to see Valentina's pale face. Before Leonard had a chance to figure out what was going on between Valentina and the Hurricane, there was a huge explosion. Leonard, holding his cell phone and deep in thought, received a call from William. As soon as he heard William's command, Leonard, who had a daunting IQ of 195 and ranked among the top ten in the hacker's list, felt his mind go blank. It took him a while, and only when William was losing patience did he manage to recover. The moment he got on the helicopter, Leonard's expression was beyond description. Probably no one else but him had ever flown a powerful helicopter across Chadron just to look for tampons. Leonard thought to himself, 'If this news got out, not to mention me, even Mr. William and the entire God Armed Alliance Alliance would be laughed at.' William poured a cup of warm water and handed it to Valentina after she came out of the bathroom. "There is no shortage of anything in Chadron, except for women's things. It will take some time, and you'll have to bear with it."
