I Admit I'm Your Boss

"Believe it or not, it's up to you. Either way, I'll be participating in the Dueling Competition seven days later. And when I secure first place and gain the approval of the God Armed Alliance, I can force you uncontrolled ones to submit to me unconditionally, regardless of whether you agree. By then, you'll have three choices: disband on the spot, join another mercenary group, or submit to the God Armed Alliance. There won't be any other options," said Valentina. The God Armed Alliance did not allow for the existence of small, uncontrolled mercenary groups. Looking at the arrogant and domineering Valentina, Bruno said, "As long as you can defeat me in the Dueling Competition, I will be the first one to acknowledge you." In the following days, Valentina and they embarked on assignments together. Over the past year, the Blackwater Mercenary Group had been practically oppressed by the entire Chadron, with everyone bullying them on sight. Every time they ventured on an assignment, they faced malicious obstructions and robbery attempts from various forces. Out of five missions, they needed a touch of luck to complete even one successfully. Even then, they never escaped without injuries. No doubt, their recent assignments were as difficult as ever. However, this time, they had an odd newcomer: Valentina. When Valentina's final blow shattered the opponent leader's knee, Bruno finally made up his mind - there was no need for him to participate in the Dueling Competition. Given his skills, he wouldn't last two minutes against Valentina. This girl's fighting prowess could definitely match their leader's. Struggling to stand up from the ground, Bruno, with his injured body, rushed to check up on the severely injured Luke, who was not far away. Their assailants this time were from the Hurricane Mercenaries that they had just defeated in battle that morning. The Hurricane Mercenaries were notoriously malicious, but after encountering their boss and being seriously dealt with, they began to fear the Blackwater Mercenary Group as a mouse would a cat. Later, news of their boss's death broke out. This invited the first wave of revenge from the Hurricane Mercenaries, who had always harbored resentment towards them. In that year, the Hurricane were the brutal mercenaries, wielding the iron hand against them. Known for their strong retaliatory tendencies, in less than half a day, they quickly assembled their troops and launched another attack. Fortunately, Valentina was there. "Didn't the boss of the Blackwater die already? Who exactly are you?" The leading mercenary of the Hurricane, clenching his shattered knee bone, struggled to back away. Like seeing a ghost, he looked at Valentina with a face full of fear. Around him, his men lay on the ground, every one of them a strong mercenary. The sound of howls echoed in his ears. "Stop seeking death," Valentina condescended, looking coldly at the people on the ground. "The Blackwater doesn't have a head now, and the remaining soldiers are struggling to survive. Given your skills, why bother aligning with such losers? You should join the Hurricane. Our leader appreciates talents, and I believe he will not mistreat you," the leading mercenary shouted at the retreating back of Valentina. Valentina paused, slightly turned to look at him. "Speak another word and I will kill you here." "Hmph, you wouldn't dare. The Hurricane is one of the top mercenaries. The God Armed Alliance will not allow it." "Believe it or not, if I'll kill you today, the God Armed Alliance won't give a damn. You can try." Faced with the dangerous glint on her face, the mercenary swallowed, thinking about the notorious boss of the Blackwater who had triumphed in the Dueling Competition, securing 33 consecutive wins and putting their own leader underfoot, Unknown. Back then, the boss of the Blackwater was named Unknown. By the time he came back to his senses, cold sweat had already drenched his back. "Get lost." As the members of the Hurricane left, the surroundings returned to tranquility. Valentina glanced at her few subordinates who had been injured and merrily joked, "Your boss was quite cruel, creating a herd of enemies for you, and then she died, leaving you guys to clean up the mess." Bruno was the first to accept Valentina. Everyone else didn't utter a word. After the last few days, they didn't have much objection to Valentina wanting to become their boss. This included Badman, who was originally planning to leave. Of course, this did not include Luke. "If you dare to disrespect our boss again, I'll kill you!" Luke threatened, his expression furious as he glared at Valentina. "He's injured, so don't provoke him anymore," Bruno said to Valentina. There wasn't a single person in the Blackwater who didn't know that Luke was their boss's loyal die-hard fan. If anyone dared to speak ill of their boss, he would be the first one to pick a fight against that person. The reason he had been tolerating Valentina probably was because of Valentina's half-true, half-false claim, "Your boss entrusted you to me." Bruno patted Luke's shoulder. "Let's all take a rest here." He then walked towards Valentina who was under the tree and handed her a can of beer. "Do you drink?" Valentina took it and opened it. Sitting down beside her and leaning against the tree, Bruno said, “Our boss loved to drink. But she was very picky. She only drank expensive wine." As he gazed at the bright moon in the sky, he started talking, "Our Blackwater Mercenary Group, initially, was just an ordinary group among all the mercenary groups, barely noticeable, be it in terms of strength or numbers, until we met our boss." Bruno took a swig of his drink. "In just three months, our reputation echoed throughout Chadron. I dare to say, aside from the God Armed Alliance Alliance, there was no one that dared to provoke us, yet our boss dared to provoke the God Armed Alliance!" Speaking of their glory days, Bruno's eyes were filled with nostalgia and longing. The admiration and respect for their boss was apparent on his face. "Do you know what place the Blackwater occupied in Chadron at that time? Fifth. Do you know how large the size and member count of the few better-ranking mercenary groups are? At least five thousand. Do you know how many of us were there? Less than three hundred." Under the lead of Unknown, the Blackwater had created several legends in Chadron. Just the fact that their boss dared to challenge thirty-three mercenary leaders in the Dueling Competition was enough to intimidate the entire Chadron. But now, they were as pitiful as rats crossing the street. "I believe what you said," Bruno suddenly commented. Valentina, who had been silently listening, slightly raised her eyebrows. "Because you are very much like our boss." Bruno crushed the empty beer can in his hand. He suddenly turned his head to look at Valentina, his gaze firmly locked onto her, and he asked, "Who exactly are you? Why do even your moves resemble our boss?" Valentina turned her head to look at him. Meeting his eager gaze, she jokingly asked, "What, you suspect that I'm your boss?" They were indeed too similar, and Bruno indeed thought so. One could gain weight to change body shape, undergo plastic surgery to alter appearance, and even change voice. But what about height? Their boss was one meter seventy tall while this girl was only one meter sixty-five. "Fine, I admit it. I'm your boss. After getting killed in an explosion at sea, my soul was reborn in this girl called Valentina." Bruno was speechless. Looking at Valentina whose face was serious but her eyes were smiling, Bruno felt a bit helpless. "Don't say that in front of Luke." If Luke heard that, they would definitely end up in a fight. In just a few days, the Blackwater Mercenary Group - which had been suppressed for a year, and silent for a year - started to move again. This news spread rapidly across Chadron. Some said that the boss of the Blackwater had come back. Those who had met Valentina claimed that she was simply not the boss. Others said that the Blackwater was a waste that only relied on a woman. However, the old members who could no longer stand the suppression and left the Blackwater heard the news and all returned... Before Leonard even arrived at Chadron, he had already heard some rumors. The grand headquarters of the God Armed Alliance was brilliantly lit. One after another, vehicles marked with the logo of the God Armed Alliance drove into the heavily guarded headquarters. In the middle of all these, there was a black Maybach. Leonard, who had arrived at Chadron earlier, was already standing at the gate to welcome them. The door of the car opened, and a man in a bespoke dark-patterned black suit got off the car. The man was imposing, his face was cold yet domineering, exerting a powerful and intimidating aura. Leonard stepped forward. "Mr. William." After entering the gate, Leonard started to report on the recent events in Chadron to William. When he was almost done with the report, he remembered something worth mentioning, so he said, "Some people said that the boss of the Blackwater Mercenary Group has returned from the dead." William asked, "You mean Unknown?"
